The old rural wedding watercolor stock illustration

The old rural wedding watercolor This work is part of my art project "Stylized Classics" to which I inspired by the old masters' works. In this project, I re-think the classic paintings; transfer it to the modern environment using new techniques and colors. The modern speed of life makes us perceive the world around us very quickly, catch the essence through form and color, details are not important.
Before I started my project, I had taken an interest in about US copyright law I was assured that the copyright for painting is valid for 70 years after the author’s death (Copyright Law of the U.S. Title 17 of the U.S. Code §302 · part (a)).
The work that inspired me is named Wedding in the Kiev province (1891) (source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%D0%9F%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BA%D0%BE_%D0%9C_%D0%92%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%96%D0%BB%D0%BB%D1%8F_%D0%B2_%D0%9A%D0%B8%D1%97%D0%B2%D1%81%D1%8C%D0%BA%D1%96%D0%B9_%D0%B3%D1%83%D0%B1%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%BD%D1%96%D1%97_1891.PNG) performed by Mykola Pymonenko (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mykola_Pymonenko)

after his death 105 years have passed.

I emphasized on the fragment.
The original work was painted with oil on canvas, I used watercolor on paper, other colors palette. The plot of the picture is only guessed, contains a different emotional coloring, and carries a different message. I sincerely believe that I have the rights to use for the inspiration of the author's work because of the expiry of the copyright protection period.
