How to draw Christmas Ornaments

During Christmas, there are tons of ornaments and decoration to represent the festive of Jesus Christ’ birth. Whether it’s Christmas tree, presents, foods or even Christmas tree ornaments. This time we’ll be making various shapes of Christmas ornaments. It is commonly household ornaments during Christmas and were put on Christmas tree. It usually made of glass or even fabric. Therefore, if you want to depict Christmas Ornaments, you can follow my instructions. Prepare a paper, a pencil, and an eraser. Now we’re ready to draw!

Steps:

Step 1: First of all, we’ll start by drawing the guidelines. The purpose of guidelines is to help you estimate the size of the ornaments and to guide you in drawing the rest. Therefore, we need to start drawing the basic shape of Christmas ornaments which are circles. Therefore, create four circles to start the guideline.

Step 2: Moving on to the next step. To make the hook, add an uneven rectangle above each circle. Then, add another shape of the ornament, diamond-like shape. Make two of them on the left-hand side of previous step.

Step 3: Next, we’ll continue drawing the hook for the diamond-like shape ornaments. Make another uneven rectangle-like shape above the edge of the shapes. After that we’ll make another shape for the ornament by making a snowman. We can start by making two circles intersecting each other but make the lower one bigger than the upper one.

Step 4: Moving on, we’ll be drawing the detail for the snowman. Create the hat by making narrow trapezium with curve line on top of it. For the hands, create two uneven rectangles next to the body guideline. After that, we’ll start making another shape ornament which is Christmas tree. Start by making several triangle-like shape combined and intersecting each other. Also, end the shape by making a small rectangle shape that intersect and below the previous step.

Step 5: Now we can add the guideline for the hook of snowman and Christmas tree shapes ornaments. Make a reverted tear-like shape above the shapes that has been mentioned before.

Step 6: We can continue the previous step by making another tear-like shape outside the previous step. Then, create the face of the snowman by making two dots with a horizontal small cone shape below it.

Step 7: Then, we can start drawing the last shape which is a star shape. Create a star shape with curvy edges on it.

Step 8: Next, draw the hook for the star shape ornament. Just like on the previous step, make a reverted tear-like shape on top of the previous shape.

Step 9: Then, add another reverted tear-like shape on outer side of the previous step

Step 10: Now we can start the detail for the diamond-like shape. To make the shape have more volume, create several lines in the middle of the shapes (see picture to better understand).

Step 11: We can make the pattern for several shape like one of the diamond-like shape and the circles. Just create several diagonal line inside the diamond-like shape, smaller circles in one of the circle, and several curve lines on the other one.Voila! Christmas Ornaments are done!

When drawing ornaments, the most important part is to look at the reference. How’s the actual Christmas designs of ornaments, the detail, each part, pattern, etc. This is important because to look for the features in Ornaments. Therefore, it’s important especially drawing the guideline. You’ll need keen eyes and a lot of practice so you can make your drawing perfect. Good luck!
